ZORA is an italian 3-piece band existing since 2003 and having so far released 3 demos, "Gore" is the fourth shot of those nice guys having for most important & obvious influence, musical EXTREMISM ! What really first caught my attention is the very-clear top production, which definitely gives a lot of impact & power on their music which is real & well-executed Brutal Death/Gore Metal with a strong Hard-Core/Punk attitude about the lyrics, which are about animal rights, violence, politic, war, human condition etc... Strong & interested ones to read - and definitely not the usual gore stereotype in spite of the demo-title that is named "gore"... Musically, these are 10 songs that will smash your brain intensely with no rest ! Aggressive & brutal from the beginning to the end, this will for sure please all NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS, BRUTAL TRUTH, SORE THROAT, MEETHOOK SEED fans... One can feel some "industrial" influences here & there like the ones one can find on the early GODFLESH albums for example ! The whole atmosphere reminds me at times of "Harmony Corruption" by NAPALM DEATH, remember that atmosphere, cold & depressive yet very straight & violent ! ZORA are definitely close to this style ! They play it with great conviction and intelligence (songs are never boring, always the little kicks or breaks that makes the songs interesting) it'd be no surprise to see them back with a real deal on a record label soon - that's nothing less than what they deserve ! If you're a death/grind maniac, look for this band !
