XIII BIS Records/Replica Records Promotion 09 - 2010
With Blaspheme we go back to the eighties, with French groups such as Vulcain, Killers, ADX, Satan Jokers, Sortilège and some others… the group was formed in the beginning of the 80s and which has released two albums “Blasphème” in 1983 and “Désir De Vampyr” in 1985. The group split up in 1985. In 2008 Blasphème comes back for the Paris Metal France Festival II with three original members: Marc Fery at vocals, Pierre Holzhaeuser at guitars and Philippe Guadagnino at bass guitar. Aldrick Guadagnino replaces Régis Martin at drums. So now is their new album “Briser Le Silence”. Even if the time has passed the style has not changed: classical heavy metal coming from the 80s. The compositions are melodic and powerful but the sound is modern. The compositions are as a whole energetic and catchy and the vocals are in French. The vocalist Marc Fery is well at place and can go relatively high in the high pitched notes. He has an efficient and powerful voice when needed. You’ll find a nice ballade in “L’Ultime Errance”. The album ends with a beautiful instrumental “Memories”. Besides the compositions are well balanced all the instruments have their place and are efficient, as well as the vocalist. Also take a real listen to the lyrics, some of them are really powerful (“Coeur D’Enfants” or “Ultime Errance” ! To be short a well balanced album with different styles, rock, heavy metal, speed and a ballad. The compositions are varied, efficient and solid. Nothing is to be throwing away, all is to keep and I’m really glad to have reviewed this “Briser Le Silence”. Welcome back Blasphème !!!
