Black Widow
2010

Black Widow has released “Alive In Death” from the American group Death Row. The group was created by Victor Griffin and Lee Abney (both Place Of Skulls) who wanted to created a group with the influences of groups such as Black Sabbath, Kiss, Alice Cooper, etc. they met Joe Hasselvander (former Pentagram). Bobby Liebling came into the group as a vocalist (former Pentagram). Lee Abney left the group and then came Marty Swaney (former Pentagram) joined the group. For me who is not a specialist of the two groups, I would say that Pentagram is more a typical rock group from the 70s and Death Row is more a doom metal.
It is a double CD package. The first CD is a live in Knoxville, Ten. 1983. I cannot say that the sound is really good, especially on the instrumental level, but on the vocals level it is much better. On the CD 2, you’ll find the first Death row Jam from 1981 as well as the 1983 demo. The first 6 tracks are instrumental.
You’ll find on this second CD three covers from Black Sabbath: “War Pigs”, “NIB” and “Into The Void”.
I’m sure the fans of Death Row or Pentagram will appreciate this release.
